Who wouldn't miss this place? This is where I used to live. Pacific Palisades, CA, otherwise known as heaven on earth. The Palisades is the gem of LA. A quiet little town that feels like an actual suburb without the strip malls, etc. It even smells good there. Lots of boutique shops, small delicious restaurants and beautiful views. The beach is Will Roger's Beach. My roommate Jennifer and I ran everyday for 2 years along the stretch of coast between the Palisades and Santa Monica. When we were training for our 1/2 marathon we ran through the hills to Santa Monica and then back home up the coast. Those were the days. Needless to say, Spencer and I both miss LA, but we miss the CA coast most of all.
I took these pictures in November while in LA for some photo shoots. It was so good to be "home." The beach is such a cathartic place for me, especially this one. Carly and I sat on the sand for hours. It was so great to hear the waves, feel the sun and smell the moist sea air.

10. The smell (on a good day, sometimes it can be stinky)

8. The sunshine and getting a "golden glow" (Don't worry I always wear sunscreen and a hat)
7. The sound of the waves
6. My wetsuit (if it's not summer; it makes me feel like a super hero and keeps me warm)

3. Surfing; jumping on my board for the first paddle out of the day

You are so like me. i have to have the air at the beach to live. Now I close my eyes and can almost feel the peace that happens in my body when I go there. You'll be back Kate!
Your pictures are beautiful! And, there is something that is just wrong about the snow. I had to go to SLC last minute last weekend. I got in at midnight, walked outside to what felt like a blizzard, and when we woke up the next morning, there was a good 6 in. that fell and was continuing to fall. I wasn't adequately packed to brave the chill and froze my buns off!!! Hope you are feeling good!
Wow- perfectly put. I miss all of those things so much! The beaches in Florida are beautiful too but a different kind of beautiful.
