I can feel the baby moving! It started a few weeks ago, but I was waiting to blog about it until I got a picture to go with it. I'm too lazy right now to pull the picture off my camera. Maybe tomorrow. ANYWAY...the baby moves and moves a lot. This is a very active child! I can't say that I am surprised though. Sometimes it's having such a good time in there that it makes me a bit woosie. Spencer was able to feel it too for the first time the other day. It was pretty cool.
OK- the ultrasound is a week from tomorrow. I'm totally excited to see the babe, etc. So far we've decided NOT to find out the sex and I really don't need to know. I like surprises and this is like the biggest surprise ever! So I've felt great about not finding out. However, now that we are getting closer I'm having second thoughts and feeling a lot of pressure. I have already planned to go more neutral in the nursery (Peter Rabbit) and with the stroller, car seat, etc. So, the only reason to find out is for the clothes/baby shower. Which somehow doesn't seem quite right. Doing something with the motivation that people will buy you more and better stuff? Not really my style...you can still have a fun shower without knowing or waiting 'till after the birth, right? Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bog, I had my baby shower after Kenna was born. I loved it so much better that way. I wasn't huge and uncomfortable sitting, I had the baby to show off(limited touching of course), AND we knew 100% what the sex was obviously. Plus it gave me something to look forward to after the birth.
If you REALLY don't want to find out, then I think Tiffany's suggestion is a GREAT idea - have the baby shower after! I found out before I was having a girl - but I was still VERY surprised at her birth because it is such a surprise at what these babies come out looking like. I totally had a picture in my head of what she was going to look like, which I'm sure most moms do, and she didn't come out looking like that at all. So, what I'm saying is if you DO find out, you will still be surprised! AND it is SO much fun to shop for girl or boy stuff I think. Anyway, good luck! I'm so excited for you!
Katie- you look so great! I am so excited for you to have a baby- BOY or GIRL! MY sister-in-law always opts for the surprise (she has three) and has always felt that it is extra special. I think you should do whatever you really want to do. Don't let pressure from family or friends sway you. (Thanks for your comment, by the way.)
I'm all for you doing what feels right to you. And, the advantage of not finding out for the baby shower is that you a) get more practical stuff, which isn't the fun stuff to buy yourself, and b) aren't stuck with everything pink or blue...it's nice to have some gender neutral stuff in the wardrobe.
Not only that, but being that baby is the first grand-baby on either side...he/she will be plenty spoiled. Just wait until your sisters start to get into the action!
So, did Chloe say wait until your sisters get into the action meaning making babies or spoiling your baby???? Made me laugh! Go with what you want to do!!! I couldn't wait, but I love the idea of not knowing! And, that is so exciting your baby is moving! I always love that!
